(Sydney,) Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour today announced receiving full accreditation with Green Globe™ – the world’s leading certification for sustainable operation and management of travel and tourism worldwide.

 

This accreditation sees the Darling Harbour icon as the first Sofitel hotel in the Pacific region to achieve this level of sustainability excellence.

To receive a final score of 91% is testament to the incredible work that our heartists, Owner and Accor do every day to build a better future.  The international sustainability recognition provided by Green Globe™ is so important for the international guests who stay with us”.

 

The Green Globe™ standard includes a set of criteria across four key pillars of Sustainable Management, Social/Economic Factors, Cultural Heritage and Environmental with more than 380 compliance factors, reviewed and updated annually.

 

Our Owner, Dr Jerry Schwartz owns a solar farm in the Hunter Valley, with the hotel receiving credits due to this solar energy.  Schwartz Family Company is committed to being a responsible company and conserving the wealth that our earth has to give us.
